Our Founder Shantoya Thomas
I come from a lifetime of giving care and compassion. I have a background in the field of Human Services, that ranges from child care, foster care, nursing homes and day programs for disabled adults. This has caused me to grow in love with serving people. In my previous employment as an Activity Coordinator, a position where I had to encourage others to take better care of themselves and be active, I found myself very unhealthy and unhappy and felt I needed to make some changes. The changes began in 2013 when I dedicated myself to making changes to better my quality of life. Over the course of a year I was successful in losing 70lbs, through soul searching and finding peace within myself.
In my quest to stay motivated and active, I tried a variety of fitness programs. Dance fitness is where I found my passion. It introduced me to Pilates. It is through Pilates that I was able to heal and restore my body. Pilates also helped me discover strength and alignment within my body. I soon realized I could help others with this work and became certified in Mat and Comprehensive Pilates. I also became National Council for Certified Personal Trainers Group Exercise Certified. I have a host of training in various group fitness formats. I fell in love with the knowledge of what the body could accomplish.
I came into the world of physical fitness with a certificate of Business Management (CBM), Nursing Assistant (CNA), CPR, First Aid & BLS Instructor credentials and Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance.
I dedicate my practice to helping people become whole through health and wellness. I promote positive body image, self-love and a fulfilling life. Enjoying a healthy and active lifestyle can be achieved at any age and any stage of life!
